STAR OF THE NORTH ROADTRIP! -- Our May 3rd meeting will be in Rochester, Minnesota this month! Home of the Mayo Clinic, IBM, and world-class Mickey Mouse fans, you are all invited to come down for a spring outing.

THE MEETING will be held in the Mayo Clinic Plummer Building. This is the site of the original "classic" Mayo clinic building, and it's like being in a museum. Marble floors, copper doors, ornate ceilings are everywhere. A perfect setting for a Mickey Mouse outfit!

You should try to leave the Twin Cities for the trip down by 7:30am on Saturday. The trip takes about 1.5 hours on Highway 52. It's a beautiful drive, and the traffic will be light on Saturday. The limit is 65 most of the way.

We will be "up and running" at the meeting site as early as 9am. We'll have the computers running and we'll be exploring many online Disney websites. Come early and learn about online Disney Discussion Boards!

The meeting will start at 10am sharp! You should plan on being there on time because our special guest will be there at 10am, and can only stay until 10:30. He will make a special proclaimation to open the meeting, and we plan to take a group photo with everyone there right away. With some luck we may get the photo into the Rochester newspaper!

-----------------------------------------------

WEAR YOUR DISNEY FINEST!-- We're going to take a group photo at this meeting with our special guest of honor. So wear your Disney finest! Colorful shirts, hats, Mickey ears, and other Disney stuff is encouraged.

-----------------------------------------------

TOPIC -- Steve Solovitz (half of our "Member of the Year" team) will be presenting on "Disney's Worldwide properties" -- a comparison of the parks, their locations and sizes, how they are alike, and how they differ. There will be a special report and photos on Tokyo Disneyland, which Steve got to visit back in December of 2000.

-----------------------------------------------

SHOW AND TELL THEME -- This is Warren and Steve's meeting, so we get to pick the theme. Warren wants everyone to bring something "Donald Duck" for this month's show and tell. Be there!

AFTER THE MEETING -- After the meeting Warren will give us a quick tour of some of the better known spots in the Mayo Clinic campus. Fancy art work abounds! Then we will "do lunch" in downtown Rochester. Everything is within walking distance, and the skyways make even bad weather no problem.
