Special movie premiere meeting! We all went to downtown Minneapolis for a private showing of "Chicken
Little!" The meeting and showing was at the Block E entertainment complex movie theaters starting at 10am Saturday.

The Star of the North had a "Taste of Disney" brunch the 8th of October. The meeting featured foods
and recipes that you normally have to go to a Disney restaurant to get. Yum! The meeting was at Barb M's condo.

"Disneyland -- In the Beginning" -- Larry gave a presentation on the history and
opening day of Disneyland in recognition of the 50th anniversary. Meeting was at 2pm at Oakdale Public Library.

This year's NFFC July convention was held in Anaheim as usual. But this year Disneyland provided a
special celebration -- it's 50th Birthday! We had a BIG group from the Star of the North NFFC attending
this event.

"Disney WW II Military Logos" -- presented by Sam G. at the Ridgedale Library.
During WW II, when the challenges of producing films of any kind were at a zenith, Disney Studios did
a remarkable thing. They began the task of producing more than 1,100 unique military "crests" for the
fighting and home front units of the American Military.
We learned just how comprehensive Disney's support of the War Effort became, from selling War Bonds to
training films to educating the public about the advantages of synthetic rubber. [MORE]
"The Lion King" came to the Minneapolis Orpheum theater from April 7th to May 29th.
